County Conducts Inspections of National River Facilities
Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province, has called for thorough measures to minimize damage from typhoons and heavy rainfall.
According to Sancheong County on April 24, the county is conducting on-site inspections of large-scale construction sites to prepare for frequent heavy rain and typhoons caused by recent abnormal weather patterns.

View original imagePreviously, Sancheong County conducted safety inspections on 32 national river facilities (18 embankments and 15 drainage and water gates).
The inspections focused on preventing inland flooding due to malfunctioning facilities. The county checked the smooth operation of CCTV, electrical, and mechanical systems at drainage and water gates, and carried out repairs where necessary.
In particular, Governor Lee visited the construction site of Soigyo in Sinan-myeon to inspect the facilities and urged efforts to prevent damage caused by disasters.
Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will continue to conduct safety inspections and expand the areas where smart measurement and management systems are installed to prepare for disasters such as floods. We will also focus on inspecting rivers within the region to make every effort to minimize damage from natural disasters."
