Professor Yoo has produced leading research results both domestically and internationally in the field of next-generation implantable and wearable wireless medical devices. In particular, he has pioneered new directions in precision medicine through a variety of wireless-medical convergence technologies, including millimeter-wave (mmWave) based biosignal transmission, low-power wireless power transfer (WPT), medical miniature antenna design, and the integration of AI-based diagnostic and control technologies.
These technologies are being applied to a range of implantable and wearable devices, such as cardiac pacemakers, capsule endoscopy monitoring devices, and brain disorder monitoring systems. Collaborative research with hospitals is also actively underway to facilitate actual clinical applications.
To date, Professor Yoo's research achievements have been published in over 100 papers in prestigious international journals, including "Nature" and "IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics." Many of these papers have been recognized for their academic excellence, receiving awards for outstanding papers and being selected as high-impact papers.
In addition, the IITP Radio Research Center (2022?2029), led by Professor Yoo and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, has achieved practical results such as technology transfer and prototype development with domestic medical device companies, based on industry-academic cooperation.
