at Five Sites Including Wolbong Seowon and Muyang Seowon
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju announced on the 15th that it will operate experiential events utilizing local national heritage sites.
The 'Utilization Project for Our Region's National Heritage' is a public contest project by the National Heritage Administration. Its purpose is to establish a sustainable foundation for utilizing the historical and cultural value of heritage sites in connection with local resources, and to revitalize the local economy.

View original imageGwangsan-gu will hold a total of 23 experiential events at five heritage sites: Wolbong Seowon, Muyang Seowon, Kim Bongho House, Yongasaengga, and Sinchang-dong Mahan Relics.
At Wolbong Seowon, programs such as scholar experience, children's humanities and arts play, and nighttime storytelling will be held under the theme 'Garden of the Moon_Wolbong Seowon'.
Muyang Seowon will operate programs under the theme 'Muyang in the City', including royal physician experience, youth humanities programs, and exploration programs for the elderly and foreigners.
Participants are learning about traditional medicinal culture in the 'Pre-Pharmacy Visit' experience program held at Muyang Seowon. Provided by Gwangsan District
View original imageAt Yongasaengga and Kim Bongho House, climate response programs will be held under the theme 'Gwangsan, Green Life in Traditional Houses'. Yongasaengga will feature lectures, performances, and children's poetry creation classes, while Kim Bongho House will offer a seasonal food experience called 'The Four Seasons of the Farmhouse'.
At the Sinchang-dong Mahan Relics site, a variety of experiential programs such as traditional weaving, woodworking, archery, and threshing will be provided.
Park Byungkyu, the head of the district, said, "Through the Gwangsan-gu National Heritage Festival, you can enjoy cultural heritage in one place and learn about the identity and historical value of Gwangsan-gu. We have prepared various programs, so we ask for your active participation."
