EU Retaliates with 25% Tariffs on US Imports
To Take Effect from the 15th...
"Prefers Negotiation"
The European Union (EU) will impose retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports starting from the 15th (local time).
According to the EU Commission on the 9th, the retaliatory measures against U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum were approved through a vote by member states.
This agreement is a countermeasure against the 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imposed by the U.S. last month. It is also the first retaliatory response by the EU against the tariff assault by the Donald Trump administration.
Although the Commission has not yet released the finalized plan, it targets key exports from U.S. Republican strongholds such as soybeans and will impose tariffs of up to 25%.
