View original imageThe DB Insurance Promy Open Organizing Committee announced a total prize fund of 1 billion KRW for the tournament, which will be held over four days starting from the 17th at the La Vie Belle Country Club Old Course (par 71, 7,181 yards) in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. Last year's total prize fund was 700 million KRW. Accordingly, the winner's prize has also increased from 140 million KRW last year to 200 million KRW.
The DB Insurance Promy Open, which began in 2005, boasts the sixth longest history on the KPGA Tour. The prize money has steadily increased over the years, and this year, marking its 20th edition, the prize fund was significantly raised.
To commemorate the 20th edition, 14 out of the 17 past champions will participate. Among them are Ko Gun-taek, Park Sang-hyun, Choi Jin-ho, Kang Kyung-nam, Moon Do-yeop, Lee Dong-min, Lee Chang-woo, Jeon Ga-ram, Lee Tae-hoon, Kang Kyung-sul, Kim Do-hoon752, Maeng Dong-seop, Lee Ki-sang, and Lee Yong-hoon. Defending champion Yoon Sang-pil will not participate due to military enlistment.

To boost players' morale and help maintain their performance, special awards and player support measures have been greatly improved. A hole-in-one prize is offered on every par-3 hole. The 'Love Birdie' campaign, which has continued since 2012, will also take place. During the tournament, funds are accumulated based on the players' total number of birdies. The total donations from the 'Love Birdie' campaign up to last year amount to 802 million KRW.
