Sejong Center for the Performing Arts announced on the 9th that, in collaboration with cultural content specialist Gaudium Associates, it will hold the exhibition "From Monet to Andy Warhol" at the Sejong Center Art Gallery from May 16 to August 31.
This exhibition is a large-scale special exhibition showcasing 143 major works from the Johannesburg Art Gallery in South Africa, providing an overview of the flow of Western art history at a glance. Curated by Italian art historian and curator Simona Bartolena, the exhibition is organized into nine sections covering key trends in art history over 400 years, from the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century to 20th-century modern art. It previously attracted over 200,000 visitors during exhibitions in Gyeongju, Busan, and Jeju, generating significant attention.
Ahn Ho-sang, president of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, said, "This exhibition is meaningful in that it offers visitors of various age groups the joy of appreciating art and provides an opportunity to understand the flow of the times through art. We hope it will be a special experience for those who love art."
