Through Renovation of Aging Station
The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 7th that it will begin renovation work on the Yeosu Expo Station facilities next month in response to the increasing demand for use in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.
The waiting rooms scattered across the 1st floor space of 1,763㎡ (approximately 530 pyeong) and the Yeosu World Expo promotional center installed in 2012 will be integrated, and convenience facilities will also be rearranged. This aims to maximize openness and optimize customer flow.

View original imageThe ceiling of the waiting room will be constructed with a curved structure shaped like the Yeosu sea. The Authority plans to express both the dynamic nature of the railway station and the regional characteristics through this design.
The aging passenger restrooms will also be renovated. The space will be expanded and the interior will be modernized. Sanitary equipment will be additionally installed.

Jeong Gi-yeon, head of the Honam Headquarters of the Korea Rail Network Authority, said, "We will prepare the construction thoroughly to provide optimal convenience and public services to local visitors."
