Jangheung County Launches New Leap Campaign for Jeongnamjin Saturday Market
County, Merchants Association, and Hometown Association Put Love for Hometown into Action
Over 40 Members of the Busan Hometown Association Join the Event
Jangheung County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sung) announced on the 7th that, in order to revitalize the Jeongnamjin Jangheung Saturday Market, which is struggling due to the economic downturn, it held a campaign on the 5th with around 100 public officials and about 20 executives from the Saturday Market Merchants Association to promote consumption at traditional markets and stabilize prices.
This event served as an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the second leap forward of Jeongnamjin Jangheung Saturday Market, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets, which are the foundation of the local economy.

View original imageIn particular, about 40 members of the Busan Hometown Association also participated in this event, touring the market, purchasing local specialties such as Jangheung Hanwoo, shiitake mushrooms, and Musan Gim, and sharing warm exchanges with the merchants, thus directly expressing their love for their hometown.
The county, the Saturday Market Merchants Association, and the Hometown Association agreed on the importance of mutual cooperation for the revitalization of the Saturday Market through this event, and decided to continue working together through ongoing exchanges to ensure the market becomes a beloved space for consumers.
Governor Kim Sung stated, "Going forward, we will restore the reputation of the Saturday Market as the nation's top weekend tourist market and achieve a second leap forward by having public officials regularly shop at the market, providing friendly service to visitors, offering reasonable prices and delicious food, and developing various events and content."
