A man in his 40s, dissatisfied with the dismissal of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, attempted self-harm in downtown Seoul.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 6th, around 9:40 a.m. that day, Lee (43) attempted self-harm by stabbing his abdomen multiple times with a sharp weapon near the Admiral Yi Sun-sin statue in Gwanghwamun Square, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Lee sustained abrasions at the scene but received first aid from the dispatched firefighters and was reported to have returned home without being transported to a hospital. The police recovered the weapon used at the scene and are investigating the exact circumstances.
