BNK Financial Donates 100 Million Won to Support Myanmar Earthquake Victims
Each 50 Million KRW Contributed by the Holding Company and BNK Capital
BNK Financial Group announced on the 3rd that it will donate 100 million KRW worth of funds and promote various financial support and relief activities to help the victims and displaced people affected by the massive earthquake that occurred in Myanmar on the 28th.
BNK Financial Group will urgently provide financial support for earthquake-affected customers through BNK Capital’s local subsidiary. Debt adjustments such as interest reductions, loan repayment deferrals, reductions, and exemptions will also be implemented for customers in the affected areas.
Non-financial humanitarian support will also be provided. BNK Financial Group and BNK Capital will each contribute 50 million KRW, totaling 100 million KRW in relief funds. Through the Social Contribution Day event, the group plans to collect donations of clothing and other items from all employees and deliver them to the local residents affected by the disaster. Its affiliate, BNK Busan Bank, will also donate 10 million KRW for emergency medical services through the On Society Contribution Foundation.

An official from BNK Capital’s Myanmar local subsidiary, where about 400 local employees including expatriates work, said, “The local victims who lost not only their families but also their livelihoods due to the earthquake are in a state of shock. We will actively promote not only financial support but also non-financial humanitarian aid in consultation with the Korean headquarters and the holding company.”
