Jeonnam Police Refer Gwangju City Council Member Im Miran for Illegal Use of Official Credit Card
Lim denies allegations, claims "repayment for debt"
The Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit 1 of the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency announced on the 2nd that it has referred Gwangju City Council member Lim Miran to the prosecution without detention on charges of violating the Political Funds Act by inappropriately using a corporate card from a private company.
Lim is accused of personally using approximately 14 million won with a corporate card she received from a fisheries company in Boseong County, Jeonnam, in April 2022.
It is reported that Lim claimed she received the corporate card as repayment for a loan of 50 million won she had given to the company at the time.
However, under the Political Funds Act, local council members are not allowed to receive political funds, and corporations are also prohibited from donating political funds.
