Uljin County Mobilizes Full Support to Overcome Gyeongbuk Wildfire Damage
Proactive and Active Support Initiated for Recovery of Affected Areas
Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province has taken proactive and active measures to support the recovery of areas in the province affected by the recent large-scale wildfire.
Starting from April 1, the county announced that it would actively provide the necessary manpower, equipment, and relief supplies to the wildfire-affected areas (Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, Yeongdeok), and participate in the recovery efforts through fundraising and the deployment of volunteer workers.
Uljin County first dispatched public officials specializing in fields such as agriculture, architecture, and forestry to support the input of data into the National Disaster Management System (NDMS) and to assist with damage assessment.
Additionally, the county has organized an 'Emergency Recovery Support Team' to share the experience and on-site know-how accumulated after the massive wildfire in Uljin in 2022. In particular, the county has established a 'North Gyeongsang Province Large-scale Wildfire Damage Area Support Plan' to provide practical assistance to the affected areas and to carry out systematic recovery efforts.
Along with resources such as manpower and supplies, the county will continue to deliver encouragement to residents who have fallen into despair by organizing fundraising campaigns among residents and staff, and by operating relay volunteer groups.
