KGM to Develop Successor SUV to Rexton with China's Chery Automobile by Next Year

Collaboration for Advancing as a Future Mobility Company
KG Mobility (KGM) has decided to jointly develop mid-to-large SUVs with China's Chery Automobile and expand technological cooperation.
On the 1st (local time), KGM held a joint development agreement ceremony at Chery Automobile's headquarters in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, China, and signed the agreement. Attendees included KGM Chairman Kwak Jae-sun, CEO Hwang Ki-young, Head of the Technology Research Institute Kwon Yong-il, as well as Chery Group Chairman Yin Tongwei and President Zhang Guibing.

View original imageAfter signing a strategic partnership and platform license agreement with Chery Automobile in October last year, KGM decided to jointly develop mid-to-large SUVs as a practical cooperation measure. They also agreed to strengthen collaboration in various fields such as autonomous driving and electric/electronic architecture based on cutting-edge software-defined vehicles (SDV).
KGM has designated the project name 'SE-10' as the successor to the Rexton and plans to complete vehicle development by 2026. The launch schedule will be finalized considering market conditions. Through the strategic partnership, KGM plans to expand not only internal combustion engines but also eco-friendly lineups, introducing various derivative models to target niche markets.
