Samcheok Dogye Mining Site Closed Mine Workers Sign 'Job Training Business Agreement'
Ministry of Employment and Labor, Gangwon Province, Samcheok City, and Korea Coal Corporation Participate on the 31st
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 1st that, as the last public coal mine in Korea, the Dogye Mining Site, will be closed in June, a "Cooperation Agreement for the Supply of Vocational Training in the Mining Area" was signed on the 31st at the Korea Coal Corporation Dogye Mining Site under the auspices of the Ministry of Employment and Labor to support the job transition and reemployment of coal miners.

The vocational training will target 274 current workers at the Dogye Mining Site, and after a preliminary demand survey, courses such as forklift operation, welding, drones, landscaping and forestry, and baking will be offered. The training period is planned to run from early April to July, considering the mine closure schedule.
