Gyeonggi-do and 31 Cities and Counties Launch 'Audit Council'
Gyeonggi Province and 31 city and county audit organizations within the province have launched a consultative body.
On the 31st, Gyeonggi Province held an inauguration ceremony for the 'Gyeonggi Province-City/County Audit Consultative Body' at the Suwon Convention Center, attended by Ahn Sang-seop, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Province Audit Committee, heads of city and county audit departments, and Jo Seong-hwan, Chair of the Planning and Finance Committee of the Provincial Council, officially announcing its activities.
The Gyeonggi Province-City/County Audit Consultative Body declared a 'Joint Resolution' containing the following: ▲strengthening cooperation and communication among audit organizations ▲establishing public service discipline ▲promoting future-oriented audits utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) ▲establishing a preventive audit system through sharing audit cases and supporting proactive administration ▲spreading the value of integrity, and pledged mutual cooperation to build an efficient audit system.

View original imageFollowing the inauguration ceremony, the 1st regular meeting addressed key agenda items to enhance communication and cooperation, including the annual operation plan of the audit consultative body, cooperation in building the Gyeonggi Province audit information system, and plans for cooperative audits between Gyeonggi Province and city/county audit organizations.
Additionally, discussions were held on the utilization of the Audit Rights Protection Officer system, requests for cooperation in special inspections on the three major areas of public service corruption, and guidance on the operation direction of the contract review system in 2025.
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, in a congratulatory message, stated, "As the largest metropolitan local government, Gyeonggi Province bears heavy roles and responsibilities, and I hope the heads of the 31 city and county audit departments become reliable ‘traffic lights’ that firmly respond to corruption and abuse of power." He added, "Through the audit consultative body, I ask you to share audit activity experiences and cases and become ‘guides’ for transparent and responsible administration."
