Japanese Woman 'Surprise Kiss' on BTS Jin... Police Decide to Stop Investigation
Investigation Suspended Due to Expected Delays
Kissed Jin on the Cheek at Last Year's Fan 'Hug Event'
Last year, the police investigation into a Japanese woman who gave a 'surprise kiss' to Jin (33, Kim Seokjin), a member of the group BTS, was halted.
On the 31st, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that they had requested the attendance of a Japanese woman in her 50s, Ms. A, as a suspect of public indecency under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, but decided to suspend the investigation as it was expected to take a considerable amount of time to conduct the inquiry.
According to police investigation rules, if a suspect stays overseas for more than two months making investigation impossible, the investigation can be suspended.
Earlier, Ms. A attended a 'hug event' with 1,000 fans held at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu on June 13 last year, the day after Jin completed his military service, and kissed Jin on the cheek.
Jin's awkward and embarrassed expression turned Ms. A's actions into a 'sexual harassment controversy.' Ms. A also wrote on her blog, "My lips touched his neck. His skin was very soft."
