LG Electronics Continues Providing Home Appliances to Evacuation Centers for Gyeongnam Wildfire Victims
Considering Appliance Support in Areas Facing Prolonged Evacuation
LG Electronics is continuing practical appliance support and service activities to help disaster victims affected by the recent wildfires in the Yeongnam region.
On the 31st, LG Electronics announced that it is considering additional appliance support such as washing machines and dryers in areas where evacuation is expected to be prolonged.
LG Electronics has established an emergency hotline centered on service centers in the wildfire-affected areas, working with local governments and village chiefs to identify necessary appliances at shelters and set up channels for receiving damaged product reports. In particular, essential household appliances such as air purifiers and microwaves have been installed in 19 major shelters in key affected areas including Uiseong-gun, Cheongsong-gun, and Sancheong-gun in Gyeongnam. The air purifiers help remove smoke that has entered the shelters and manage indoor air quality, while the microwaves support the preparation of simple meals in environments with limited cooking facilities.
Repair support for damaged appliances is also underway. LG Electronics has dispatched master technicians to each region to operate mobile service centers, and since last weekend, when wildfire containment entered its final stage, it has been visiting individual homes through the 'Home-to-Home Service.' This service includes ▲product safety inspections ▲repairs and cleaning ▲issuance of malfunction confirmation certificates for fire insurance claims.
An LG Electronics official said, "We will continue steady and practical support so that residents suffering from sudden disasters can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
