Fashion and Beauty Industry Supports Wildfire Victims with Relief Supplies and Aid

Fashion and cosmetics (beauty) companies are extending a helping hand by providing relief supplies, clothing, and donations to several affected areas, including the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions where large wildfires occurred.
On the 31st, according to the fashion and beauty industry, BYN Black Yak Group’s social welfare foundation, Black Yak Kang Tae-sun Sharing Foundation, supported relief supplies worth 150 million KRW to assist disaster victims and local communities affected by the large wildfires.
On the 29th, the Sharing Foundation delivered 300 Black Yak sleeping bags and relief supplies worth 150 million KRW through the emergency relief field visit team of the international relief and development NGO World Vision for the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk wildfire areas. These supplies were provided to evacuation centers for disaster victims in the Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions and distributed to affected residents.
Chairman Kang Tae-sun said, “We decided to support relief supplies to help the rapid recovery of the affected areas going through difficult times due to the large wildfires,” adding, “We sincerely hope that the wildfire victims can return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”
Topten, a clothing brand operated by Shinseong Trading, supported 10,000 pieces of clothing through Yeongyang County Office, Andong City Hall, and Good Neighbors to assist wildfire victims. The clothing supplied by Topten will be promptly delivered on-site to disaster victims struggling due to the wildfires in the Gyeongsang-do regions such as Yeongyang and Andong.

View original imageThe relief items were composed of practical everyday wear such as T-shirts and innerwear that require frequent replacement for hygiene purposes, to provide real help to disaster victims facing sudden hardships. The items included cotton basic short-sleeve T-shirts with excellent sweat absorption, soft texture, and comfortable fit, as well as underwear.
Kang Seok-gyun, Head of Fashion Biz at Shinseong Trading, said, “We decided to support this aid hoping that those who lost their homes due to unexpected disasters can regain stability quickly,” adding, “We hope the affected residents can return to their daily lives soon, and Topten will continue to provide ongoing support wherever help is needed.”
Household goods company Korea P&G donated a total of 55.8 million KRW, including employee fundraising, for wildfire damage recovery. This amount combines the company’s 50 million KRW donation and 5.8 million KRW raised by employees. The donation will be used through the social welfare corporation Children and Future Foundation to support the swift recovery of affected areas and help disaster victims return to their daily lives.
