It is reported that these Chinese companies used Taiwanese job platforms to offer high salaries and illegally hired R&D personnel. They were confirmed to have transferred research results, including solid-state drive (SSD) storage technology, to China for the benefit of Chinese companies.
The Investigation Bureau specifically explained that SMIC (Zhongxin Guoji), known as the "Chinese TSMC," established a company in American Samoa, a Pacific island territory, and in 2010 disguised it under foreign capital to set up a subsidiary in the northern Hsinchu area.
