View original imageDaejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced that on the 27th, it held a meeting with professors from webtoon departments of five universities in Daejeon and the Daejeon City government to discuss the development of the local webtoon industry and industry-academic cooperation projects.
During the meeting, topics discussed included: operation of the webtoon industry-academic joint campus support project, the University Cartoon Webtoon Championship event, the Daejeon Webtoon Membership Program, and the local-based webtoon artist training project, all aimed at fostering webtoon talent through cooperation among industry, academia, and government.
Participants also toured the Daejeon Contents Korea Lab and Daejeon Esports Stadium to explore ways to collaborate on future events such as exhibitions of works from the University Cartoon Webtoon Championship and corporate webtoon serialization contract consultations.
Lee Eunhak, President of the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, said, "The webtoon industry plays a vital role in revitalizing the local cultural industry and expanding the creative ecosystem," adding, "Based on the opinions gathered at this meeting, we will further strengthen Daejeon's specialized webtoon talent development model and industrial ecosystem."
