Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has prepared a cultural and artistic program that allows visitors to enjoy the fully bloomed cherry blossoms of Seokchon Lake up close. The event '2025 Lake and Spring' will be held at the 'Cultural Experiment Space Lake' (256 Songpanaru-gil) until April 6.
The 'Cultural Experiment Space Lake,' which offers a panoramic view of Seokchon Lake through its large windows and terrace, is a popular spring destination visited by many tourists every year. It is also a unique exhibition space where visitors can experience the distinctive artistic worlds of young artists alongside the lake scenery.
The district has prepared spring-themed exhibitions and cultural art programs here in connection with the 'Lake Cherry Blossom Festival' (April 2?6). Since the 25th of last month, a variety of enjoyable activities such as a two-person illustration exhibition, photo zones, and hands-on events have been operating.
First, 16 works by two young artists active in the district are currently on display. Artist Munisseoni (Seo Yoo-sun) presents peaceful-themed works to share the comfort she received through painting with visitors, while artist Seulseul (Park Seul-gi) depicts tranquil everyday scenes bathed in warm spring sunlight, evoking emotions.
On the 2nd and 3rd floors, photo zones where visitors can capture spring memories have been set up. Along with the 'Giant Flower Photo Zone,' which decorates the interior with huge spring flowers against the backdrop of cherry blossoms outside the window, an 'Event Photo Zone' that instantly issues small-sized photo receipts is also in operation.
Various hands-on activities are abundant. The 'Pipe Cleaner Flower Making,' which is easy to create using the art material 'moru,' is offered free of charge. Participants must be at least in the 3rd grade of elementary school, and reservations can be made in advance on the 'Seoul Public Service Reservation' website.
From simple souvenir crafts like balloon art and pinwheels to daily art experiences such as drawing cherry trees to complete the cherry blossom art wall, various activities are ongoing. Additionally, a random message 'lottery event' that offers a nostalgic retro experience is available, and starting in April, a 'Cherry Blossom Arcade' will be operated to provide diverse entertainment.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “We have prepared cultural and artistic experience events to richly enjoy the cherry blossom guests who come briefly in spring and leave us wanting more.” He added, “We hope everyone enjoys a happy spring day filled with the warm emotions that culture brings.”
