On the morning of the 26th, County Governor Lee Sangik visited the Chengdu Trade Center of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), headed by Byun Yongseop, and held a meeting with officials to share strategies and information for entering the Chinese market.
The county also visited the Chengdu branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, led by Kim Hyokyung, and pledged mutual cooperation to expand cultural exchanges based on mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries. They discussed practical measures to attract Chinese tourists. Both sides agreed to jointly promote the upcoming "27th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival," which will be held on the 25th of next month, and to cooperate in attracting Chinese tourists.
On the same day, Hampyeong County also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sichuan Korean Association, chaired by Park Sangwoong, to establish an economic cooperation foundation for the entry of Hampyeong's agricultural specialties into the Chinese market. Both sides will work together to expand export channels for agricultural products by securing a sustainable distribution network and supporting local marketing to consumers.
A KOTRA official advised, "China has a huge consumer market based on innovation and cultural diversity, so there are many opportunities for entry, but since Chinese consumers tend to prefer verified products, building consumer trust is most important. Thorough market research and tailored marketing strategies are necessary to secure product competitiveness."
Governor Lee Sangik stated, "Through this visit to Chengdu, we were able to lay the foundation for practical exchanges that combine economy and culture. We will continue to strengthen global market development and international cooperation to enhance the competitiveness of Hampyeong agriculture and revitalize the local economy."
