View original imageJeollanam-do held a workshop on revitalizing tourism and supporting startups at the Jeonnam Women and Family Foundation on the 26th, as the first follow-up project to the tourism activation business agreement signed with Google in January?the first such agreement between a local government in Korea and Google.
More than 100 people attended the workshop, including local government and related agency tourism officials, professionals from the tourism industry such as the Tourism Dure and Cheongchun Eoram projects, and executives and employees of small and venture startups.
Three speakers, including Google experts, explained strategies for promoting tourism using Google’s core services such as its search engine and map platform, as well as growth strategies for small businesses, sharing a variety of practical information that can be applied immediately in the field.
Stephanie Pyo, a manager at Google, gave a presentation on “Tourism Promotion Strategies Using Google Search and Map Platforms,” while Jangjun Hwang, a senior engineer at Google, spoke on “Growth Strategies for Small and Venture Businesses Using Google AI.” Taehwan Kim, CEO of Sangoons Co., Ltd., shared on “Effective Online Marketing Strategies for Small Businesses and Startup Experiences.” Their lectures received enthusiastic responses from the attendees.
Sim Woojeong, head of the Tourism Division at Jeollanam-do, said, “This workshop, conducted in collaboration with the global company Google, will be a great opportunity for the local tourism industry and startups to take a step forward.”
