[2025 Asset Disclosure] Cho Tae-yeol, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Reports Assets of 2.56 Billion Won
Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol reported assets worth approximately 2.55 billion KRW.
According to the 2025 regular asset change report for public officials posted in the government gazette by the Government Ethics Committee on the 27th, Minister Cho reported total assets of 2.65238 billion KRW under his name, his spouse, and his mother. This is an increase of about 30.25 million KRW compared to last year's reported amount of 2.62213 billion KRW.
Deposits increased from 582.88 million KRW to 616.81 million KRW due to salary savings and other factors. The apartment owned by Minister Cho located in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, remained valued at 1.816 billion KRW with no change in price. Minister Cho’s eldest son refused to disclose his assets citing independent livelihood.
First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-gyun reported assets worth approximately 7.0557 billion KRW, a decrease of 426.91 million KRW from last year. This was influenced by the exclusion of a total of 708.61 million KRW due to his two children refusing to disclose their assets for independent livelihood reasons. Excluding this, the assets under Vice Minister Kim and his spouse slightly increased, with investment assets such as securities rising by about 212.48 million KRW.
Second Vice Foreign Minister Kang In-seon reported assets worth 6.07424 billion KRW, an increase of 183.59 million KRW from last year. This was mainly due to the rise in the value of an apartment owned by his spouse located in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which increased by 181 million KRW. Other assets such as a hotel health club membership worth 75 million KRW owned by himself and a golf club membership worth 50 million KRW owned by his spouse remained the same as previously reported.

Protocol Chief Kim Tae-jin reported assets totaling 2.85222 billion KRW, which increased by about 1.16 billion KRW in one year due to the rise in the value of an apartment co-owned with his spouse located in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which increased by 1.06167 billion KRW.
