Gwangju Urban Corporation Operates Field Training Institution for Housing Welfare Workers
"Contributing to the Improvement of Residential Welfare Service Standards"
Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) announced on the 26th that it has been designated as the first on-site training institution for residential welfare workers in Gwangju and Jeonnam, and will begin full-scale on-site training guidance from the second quarter of this year.
Residential welfare workers are professionals who provide customized residential services to support housing stability for vulnerable groups. This qualification is a nationally certified private license supervised by the Korea Housing Association, and on-site training at a specialized residential welfare institution is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the qualification. Accordingly, the corporation plans to offer trainees the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in residential welfare tasks and take the lead in fostering specialized residential welfare professionals in the region.
In particular, the operation of this training institution is expected to resolve the inconvenience previously experienced by trainees who had to move to other regions, and enable systematic residential welfare education within the local area.
The on-site training will focus on practical experience such as ▲operation and management of rental housing ▲counseling support for vulnerable groups ▲linking residential welfare services. Trainees are expected to strengthen their practical capabilities by experiencing various residential welfare projects of Gwangju Urban Corporation.
President Kim Seungnam said, "By operating the residential welfare worker on-site training program, we will contribute to improving the level of residential welfare services in the local community," and added, "We will continue to provide full support for nurturing specialized residential welfare professionals."
Meanwhile, Gwangju Urban Corporation continues its efforts to stabilize housing for vulnerable groups by promoting various residential welfare projects, including the supply and operation of rental housing.
