The road construction involved a total investment of 312.7 billion KRW, including 266.7 billion KRW from the national government, 1.5 billion KRW from the provincial government, and 44.5 billion KRW from the city government.
This road first opened the section 1-2 between Gisan-ri and Sinwang-ri in Hyeondeok-myeon in 2018, followed by section 2 between Sinwang-ri and Bonjeong-ri in Paengseong-eup, which opened in 2020 and has been in operation since. Now, with the completion of section 1-1 between Sinyeong-ri in Poseung-eup and Gisan-ri in Hyeondeok-myeon, the entire route has been completed.
The city explained that with the opening of the road, the driving distance from Pyeongtaek Station to the western pier intersection, the starting point of the road, has been reduced by 7 km, and the driving time has been shortened by about 20 minutes. In particular, the city expects that traffic volume in the southwestern region of Pyeongtaek will be dispersed, improving logistics efficiency.
