The projects for which the city requested national funding include ▲the construction of the Yongin Comprehensive Environmental Education Center ▲installation of the Dongnim public sewage treatment facility ▲improvement of Baekam Respia ▲installation of a new sewage trunk (interceptor) pipeline in the Dongnim treatment area ▲and maintenance of connecting pipelines for small-scale sewage treatment facilities. Mayor Lee requested that the 2.167 billion KRW budget required for these projects be reflected in next year's Ministry of Environment budget.
Among these, the Dongnim public sewage treatment facility aims to resolve the issue of having no related facilities in Mohyeon-eup, Cheoin-gu, and having to outsource sewage treatment to the neighboring Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province. Previously, the Ministry of Environment approved the plan to establish the sewage treatment facility last year. Mayor Lee said, "Please make sure to include the 670 million KRW budget necessary for design in next year's budget so that the sewage treatment facility can be constructed promptly."
Mayor Lee also requested that the Ministry of Environment support 47% (1.08 billion KRW) of the increased project cost of 2.144 billion KRW for the 'Yongin Comprehensive Environmental Education Center,' which is planned to be built in Yuun-ri, Pogok-eup, Yongin Respia.
Additionally, Mayor Lee proposed budget inclusion for 230 million KRW needed for the 'Baekam Respia improvement,' 137 million KRW for the new sewage trunk (interceptor) pipeline installation in the Dongnim treatment area, and 122 million KRW for the replacement and installation of sewage pipelines in Namdong and Yangji-myeon, and Pogok-eup areas of Cheoin-gu.
