KB Financial Group Appoints Outside Director Jo Hwajun as Chairman of the Board

KB Financial Group held a board meeting immediately after the regular shareholders' meeting on the 26th and appointed Cho Hwa-jun as the chairman of the board of directors.
New Chairman Cho Hwa-jun holds a Ph.D. in accounting and is a financial and fiscal expert with extensive experience and insight. He has been recognized for his management and administrative capabilities through his roles as CFO of various companies such as KTF and BC Card, as well as CEO of KT Capital.
In addition to diligently performing his duties as an outside director, Chairman Cho has greatly contributed to the efficient operation of KB Financial Group’s board and its committees based on his excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Following last year, KB Financial Group has once again appointed a female as the chairman of the board this year, leading efforts to enhance board diversity for the advancement of corporate governance. The proportion of female outside directors remains at 42.8% (3 out of 7), maintaining a level comparable to major global financial institutions.
By securing diversity on the board, KB Financial Group plans to protect the interests of various stakeholders and advance corporate governance to steadily implement its plan to enhance corporate value.

Meanwhile, at today’s regular shareholders' meeting, four outside directors were reappointed, including Cho Hwa-jun, Yeo Jeong-seong, Choi Jae-hong, and Kim Seong-yong, along with two new outside directors: Professor Cha Eun-young of Ewha Womans University and Kim Seon-yeop, CEO of Lee Jung Accounting Corporation. KB Kookmin Bank President Lee Hwan-joo also joined the board as a non-executive director.
