Suwon-si Intensifies Crackdown on Overdue Parking Violation Fines... Until the End of March
Gyeonggi Suwon City will operate a ‘Concentrated Vehicle Seizure Period for Parking Violation Fine Delinquents’ from the 26th to the 31st of this month.
The enforcement targets are parking violation fine delinquent vehicles that meet all three conditions: ▲60 days have passed since the delinquency occurred ▲the total delinquent amount is 300,000 KRW or more ▲the vehicle subject to the fine is owned by the delinquent.
During this period, Suwon City will conduct enforcement mainly in areas with dense vehicle presence such as shopping districts and public parking lots through a ‘tracking seizure team.’ Using a vehicle-mounted seizure system, if a delinquent vehicle is found, its license plate will be immediately seized.
If a seized vehicle is operated without authorization, penalties such as fines may be imposed according to the Automobile Management Act.

In February, Suwon City sent seizure warning notices to 1,683 habitual delinquent offenders of parking violation fines, urging voluntary payment of the delinquent amounts.
Payments can be made via the internet (Wetax, Internet Giro), banks (CD, ATM with personal card or passbook), or phone (ARS 142-211).

A Suwon City official stated, "As the amount of delinquent parking violation fines increases every year, we plan to continue seizure activities. We will do our best to increase the collection rate and ensure that chronic and habitual delinquents become aware of the seriousness of their actions."
