Jeonnam Province Provides Emergency Support for Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam Affected by Wildfires
A Total of 250 Million KRW Provided
Hope for Residents' Return to Daily Life
Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it will urgently provide 250 million KRW from its disaster relief fund to support recovery efforts in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, which suffered significant damage due to large-scale wildfires.
This support is intended to help restore the affected areas and enable residents to return to their daily lives as quickly as possible. By region, 100 million KRW will be provided each to Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam, and 50 million KRW to Ulsan.
Kim Yungrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, said, "I offer my condolences to those who lost their lives while fighting the wildfires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, and extend my deepest sympathies to the disaster victims and local residents who are facing great hardship due to the wildfires. I hope this donation will be of some help in the recovery and restoration of the affected communities."
So far, Jeollanam-do has urgently deployed three firefighting helicopters, 118 firefighting personnel, and 24 firefighting vehicles to the wildfire sites in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam and Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk, making every effort within its capacity to extinguish the fires and prevent their spread.
NH Nonghyup Bank Jeonnam Headquarters and National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives Jeonnam Headquarters plan to provide 3,000 packs of Wando seaweed rice noodles and 3,000 packs of Haenam instant rice, all produced in Jeonnam, as relief supplies for residents in the affected areas. In addition, the Jeonnam Volunteer Group will actively assist local residents by operating 'meal trucks' and 'laundry trucks' in the disaster areas.
