Musinsa Completes Full Inspection of Mixed Usage Rate... "8.5% Misreporting Detected"
Inspection Completed in 100 Days
8.5% of All Products Sanctioned for "False or Exaggerated Advertising"
Musinsa announced on the 25th that it has completed a full inspection of products from its partner brands made with down and cashmere materials, which recently became a hot issue.
The down and cashmere products from partner brands that Musinsa has fully inspected for blend ratios total 7,968 items. The investigation was completed in about 100 days since the full inspection began on December 16 of last year. Among all the products subject to inspection, appropriate test reports were confirmed for 4,577 items (57.4%) from partner brands, while for about 43% of the products that did not submit test reports, Musinsa purchased them directly and requested testing through certification agencies.
The investigation revealed that 20% of the products violated the Safe Transaction Policy, which prohibits false and exaggerated advertising. Among the 7,968 products subject to full inspection, approximately 8.5% were found to have incorrect down and cashmere blend ratio labeling. Based on the investigation results, Musinsa imposed sanctions on brands that violated the Safe Transaction Policy, preventing them from selling all their products for a minimum of 5 days and up to a maximum of 35 days.
Taking this incident as an opportunity, Musinsa signed quality enhancement cooperation agreements with Korea’s leading clothing testing, certification, and analysis institutions: ▲KOTITI Testing & Research Institute ▲KATRI Testing & Research Institute ▲FITI Testing & Research Institute. Musinsa also plans to regularly conduct education and seminars for partner brands with these institutions. Furthermore, the brand entry criteria and screening procedures have been significantly improved, and existing partner brands are now required to submit quality verification documents as a mandatory condition for sales.
