The campaign was carried out as a joint effort between the public and private sectors, including Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province Dongducheon Yangju Office of Education, Yangju Police Station, and the Yangju Green Mothers’ Association.
Participants used sashes, placards, and banners to encourage drivers to come to a complete stop at crosswalks without traffic signals within school zones and to practice considerate driving.
An official from Yangju City stated, “To prevent traffic accidents in school zones, it is important that the awareness of ‘children’s safety first’ is established throughout society. We hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity to change drivers’ perceptions.”
