Last year, the scope of participation was expanded to include seven cafes near the headquarters and one tenant company at Busan Port, who joined in collecting milk cartons, adding greater significance to resource recycling in collaboration with the local community.
As a result of these efforts, a total of 5,650 kg of recyclable resources were collected last year. Specifically, 5,450 kg of waste paper and 200 kg of milk cartons were recycled, resulting in the creation of 1,013 eco-friendly tissue packs. BPA additionally purchased 587 recycled tissue packs, delivering a total of 1,600 tissue packs to 16 BPA Hope Pantry locations, with 100 packs distributed to each site.
BPA Hope Pantry is a sharing refrigerator operated by Busan Port Authority in cooperation with local social welfare organizations.
On the 24th, about 10 BPA employees gathered in the main auditorium of the headquarters to conduct packaging work for the donation of 1,600 tissue packs. Participants also attached stickers to promote the purpose of the eco-friendly sharing event and encourage participation in future initiatives.
Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "The waste paper we collected together with our neighbors over the past year has been reborn as daily necessities for other neighbors," and added, "We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities that create sustainable value in cooperation with the local community."
