Two Firefighting Helicopters, 204 Personnel,
and 49 Firefighting Vehicles Deployed for Wildfire Suppression
The Central Forest Fire Prevention Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service announced that as of 5 a.m. on the 25th, the wildfire that broke out at 2:03 p.m. on the 22nd in San 106, Angok-ri, Hallim-myeon, Gimhae-si, Gyeongnam, has reached a containment rate of 99%.

View original imageWith sunrise, the forest authorities plan to deploy two firefighting helicopters, 204 personnel, and 49 firefighting vehicles to focus all efforts on extinguishing the main fire.
The suspected cause of the fire is trash incineration, and the affected area is estimated at 97 hectares. The total fire line is 6 km, with 0.06 km currently being extinguished and 5.94 km already contained.
The current weather conditions are a southwesterly wind at 1 m/s (maximum wind speed 1-2 m/s), a temperature of 14.9°C, and humidity at 65%. Full efforts are being made to extinguish the wildfire.
It was reported that 23 residents from 15 households, who had previously evacuated from a nearby village, have returned home.
The Central Disaster Response Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service stated, "During the night, ground firefighting personnel were deployed to block the wildfire from reaching residential areas as much as possible, and firefighting helicopters are being dispatched sequentially at sunrise," adding, "We will prioritize safety above all to prevent any accidents at the scene while working to extinguish the fire."
