Reduction of Public Utility Charges and More
Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 25th that it will urgently inject 1 billion KRW from the Disaster Safety Special Grant Tax for emergency restoration of wildfire damage.
Previously, the government designated Sancheong County as a Special Disaster Area on the 22nd to quickly recover from the large-scale wildfire that occurred in the Sicheon-myeon area of Sancheong County on the 21st and to support the victims.
With this designation, the government will provide national funding for the restoration of facilities damaged by the wildfire, and support affected residents with measures such as living stability assistance, deferment of local tax payments, and reduction of public utility charges.
Accordingly, Sancheong County plans to urgently allocate the 1 billion KRW Disaster Safety Special Grant Tax as a pre-established budget to support the demolition of damaged houses, site maintenance, installation of temporary housing facilities, and emergency restoration.
In particular, the county plans to implement emergency measures for the stabilization of daily life for local residents affected by the wildfire, such as providing temporary housing for displaced people and distributing disaster relief supplies.
County Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We will mobilize all available resources, including reserve funds, to ensure the stabilization of daily life for displaced residents and the swift normalization of affected areas," and added, "We will do our utmost to help all residents quickly return to their daily lives."
