Gyeonggi-do to Operate 'Dokdo Alimi' Youth Camp This Year
Gyeonggi Province is recruiting participants for the ‘Dokdo Informer’ Youth Camp to establish a correct historical understanding of Dokdo and enhance awareness of territorial sovereignty in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day this year.
The Dokdo Informer Youth Camp is a program where participants visit Dokdo and Ulleungdo to explore history, culture, and the environment firsthand, and promote Dokdo through a Dokdo protection performance. Participants learn about the history and significance of protecting Dokdo through expert lectures and carry out team projects to produce promotional videos about Dokdo.
The camp will be held in four sessions, with 55 youths participating in each session, totaling 220 participants.
Regarding the camp schedule, ▲the Southern region (June 2?5) departs from Suwon City ▲the Eastern region (June 17?20) departs from Gwangju City ▲the Northern region (September 2?5) departs from Uijeongbu City ▲the Western region (September 22?25) departs from Gwangmyeong City.
Eligibility requirements include youths born between 2007 and 2012 who are currently attending middle or high school in the province or residing in Gyeonggi Province. Interested youths in Gyeonggi Province should submit the required documents, including an application form, self-introduction letter, and activity proposal, by April 5 via email to the Gyeonggi Youth Activity Promotion Center at ggyouth@ggyouth.or.kr.

Kang Hyun-seok, Director of the Future Lifelong Education Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "This camp will provide youths with an opportunity to establish a correct historical perspective on Dokdo and directly experience activities to protect Dokdo," adding, "We hope many youths in Gyeonggi Province will show interest and participate."
