One Gold and One Bronze Medal
at the National Boxing Competition by Category
Gwangju Physical Education Middle School achieved remarkable results by winning one gold medal and one bronze medal at the '2025 Korea Boxing Association President's National Boxing Competition by Category', which was held in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk for seven days starting from the 13th.
Lee Changuk (3rd year student) challenged himself by moving up from his original event, the boys' middle school -42kg category, to the -46kg category. Utilizing his unique concentration and rhythmic footwork, he claimed the gold medal.
Kim Junjae (2nd year student) also moved up from his usual -38kg category to the boys' middle school -42kg category and earned a valuable bronze medal.
Lee Changuk, captain of Gwangju Physical Education Middle School, said, "Thanks to the systematic guidance of coach Kim Kyungwon, I was able to achieve good results," and added, "I am grateful to everyone who supported and encouraged me whenever I wanted to give up."
Lee Junjae, principal of Gwangju Physical Education Middle School, stated, "I am pleased to see the results of our focused efforts on improving the athletes' basic physical strength and specialized technical training," and added, "We will do our best to achieve excellent results at the upcoming 54th National Youth Sports Festival in May."
