The two organizations will open their workplace daycare centers to each other and designate Busan Medical Center as the primary healthcare provider for the daycare, supporting the healthy growth and development of infants and young children.
Going forward, the corporation plans to open its workplace daycare center to institutions without their own daycare facilities, such as Busan Tourism Organization, Busan Urban Corporation, Busan Facilities Corporation, and Busan Technopark. It will also form an open childcare council to collaborate on childcare projects and foster a culture that encourages childbirth.
Additionally, the corporation is implementing comprehensive in-house childcare support measures to promote a culture that encourages childbirth, including providing childbirth incentives, operating kid-friendly resorts, and increasing family allowances.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, "The low birthrate issue is a critical challenge affecting our society. I believe this agreement will contribute to making Busan a city where it is good to raise children and serve as a strong model for solving regional issues such as low birthrate and population decline." He added, "We will spare no effort in providing support from various angles to overcome low birthrate and regional extinction."
