View original imageConveyance logistics refers to the process of moving raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products between production lines, warehouses, and shipping points. It is considered a key factor in improving productivity and efficiency.
Existing conveyance logistics systems operated by following predetermined routes and pre-planned processes, making it difficult to respond immediately to real-time production schedule changes or unexpected increases in logistics demand. SK C&C’s AI Conveyance Logistics System operates by linking with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) to analyze real-time production data and automatically adjust optimal conveyance routes. This shortens production lead times and maximizes logistics conveyance efficiency.
It monitors the real-time location and inventory of products and materials while also connecting with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and the Automation Control System (ACS). When production managers establish appropriate inventory and production plans through demand forecasting, the conveyance robots (AMRs) equipped with AI-based real-time route optimization technology help determine the optimal routes. This maximizes production line utilization and enables logistics operations that consider inventory requirements and urgent conveyance requests.
SK C&C expects that the AI Conveyance Logistics System will improve logistics processing speed by more than 50% and enhance item sorting and transfer efficiency by over 20%.
SK C&C is promoting the expansion of the AI Conveyance Logistics System to global manufacturing plants in the United States, Asia, and Europe. Currently, it is developing a conveyance logistics automation system specialized for material parts at a parts and materials company’s factory in the U.S., and it is also building and operating conveyance logistics automation systems and production management systems optimized for local manufacturing environments in Asia and Europe.
Going forward, SK C&C plans to combine real-time data monitoring and digital twin technology with the AI Conveyance Logistics System to enhance integrated optimization levels.
