Gwangju Civic Groups Declare: "We Can No Longer Tolerate the Regression of Democracy"
"Constitutional Court, Immediately Remove President Yoon"
Ethnic organizations in the Gwangju region have called on the Constitutional Court to swiftly reach a decision to remove President Yoon Suk-yeol, criticizing the court for delaying the impeachment trial.

They declared, “President Yoon already has sufficient grounds for impeachment due to insurrection and violation of the Constitution,” adding, “The Constitutional Court has no further reason to hesitate.”
The organizations criticized, “Since the December 3 insurrection, democracy has been severely undermined,” and added, “The economy and diplomacy are also collapsing.” They continued, “The international community is also concerned about the regression of democracy in Korea,” and demanded, “The Constitutional Court must immediately remove President Yoon in accordance with the will of the people.”
The organizations argued that since taking office, President Yoon has blatantly violated the Constitution through actions such as a pro-Japanese historical coup, insulting the spirit of anti-Japanese independence, humiliating diplomacy toward Japan, and infringing on the rights of victims of forced mobilization. They stated, “The removal of President Yoon is the only way to protect democracy and people’s livelihoods,” and vowed, “We will fight to the end with the Gwangju spirit.”
