In particular, since 2018, Dr. Bae has been active as a dialysis specialist with the Korean Society of Nephrology, demonstrating expertise in hemodialysis treatment.
Local dialysis patients can now receive specialized medical services at a nearby institute without having to travel long distances.
Dr. Sung Paul (Gastrointestinal Surgery specialist) built expertise by treating and operating on various gastrointestinal disease patients as a resident and clinical instructor at Asan Medical Center in Seoul.
His main areas of practice include gastric cancer, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), laparoscopic and robotic surgery, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and hernias. Especially skilled in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic surgery), he is expected to contribute to shortening patient recovery times and improving quality of life.
Director Lee Changhun stated, "This year, we have invited four specialists, including two for the Cardio-Cerebrovascular Center. For kidney disease patients, continuous management is essential as many have underlying conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. Early detection and treatment are also key factors in increasing survival rates for gastric cancer. Therefore, recruiting specialists in essential medical fields is expected to contribute to improving the healthy life expectancy of local residents."
He added, "Although it is a challenging time to recruit medical staff, we will do our utmost to continuously secure outstanding professionals dedicated to public healthcare so that we can provide better medical services to the local community."
