Guro-gu Assigns Traffic Safety Instructors on Children's School Routes
Traffic Safety Guides Assigned to 12 Elementary Schools
Accompanying Students on Their Commute
and Teaching Traffic Safety Rules
Guro-gu will operate the 'Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project' from March to December this year to ensure the safe commute of children.
The 'Children's School Commute Traffic Safety Guidance Project' was established to protect children from various dangers that may occur during their commute by assigning traffic safety guides near elementary schools.
In December last year, Guro-gu conducted a preliminary demand survey targeting elementary schools within the district and selected eight schools that wished to participate (△ Gaebong Elementary △ Gocheok Elementary △ Maebong Elementary △ Shinmirim Elementary △ Oryu Elementary △ Yeongseo Elementary △ Hangdong Elementary △ Haneulsup Elementary) as this year's project targets, assigning traffic safety guides to each school.
The traffic safety guides assigned to each school meet with lower-grade elementary students (grades 1-3) who share the same commuting direction at designated times and places, teaching them traffic safety rules and accompanying them on their commute. This has the effect of preventing various safety accidents and child crimes, receiving great support from parents.
