Iksan City Recruiting Trainees for 'Citizen Records Docent Training Program'

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province will be recruiting trainees for the 'Citizen Records Docent Training Course' from the 14th to the 28th.
According to the city on the 13th, this training is the first docent training course to be held since the Citizen History Archives opened at the end of last year. Participants will systematically learn professional record interpretation techniques and storytelling methods through a total of five sessions from the 1st to the 15th of next month.

The number of trainees is limited to 20 on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications can be made through the integrated reservation system on the Iksan City website. Those who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion and will be qualified to work as docents at the Citizen History Archives. A city official stated, "This training will provide citizens with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of local history and record culture, and to work as citizen interpreters with professional expertise," adding, "We expect it to be the starting point for the spread of a citizen-led record culture."
Meanwhile, since 2021, the city has been operating various programs such as training citizen record activists to spread a citizen-centered record culture, and is taking the lead in popularizing record culture together with citizens.
