Male Impersonating Victim in Mokdong Kkaebi Market Traffic Accident Sent to Prosecution
A man in his 50s who pretended to be a traffic accident victim and received several million won in settlement money was referred to the prosecution.
On the 13th, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that Mr. A (57) was sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of fraud.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of entering the accident scene at Kkaebi Market in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, at the end of last year and pretending to be a victim after a traffic accident occurred.
Mr. A was transported by 119 at the time and was hospitalized for about two weeks, receiving treatment worth approximately 3 million won. He also received about 4 million won from the insurance company and the at-fault driver as a criminal settlement, which he reportedly used for living expenses.
