CJ ENM announced on the 7th that it has appointed Jeong Hyun-joo, former CEO of Ace Maker, as the new head of its film division. She is a veteran with over 20 years of extensive experience in film production, investment, and distribution. While working at Taewon Entertainment, she was in charge of overseas distribution and purchased about 100 foreign films including The Lord of the Rings, Shaolin Soccer, and Kill Bill. At Cheongaram, she served as the head of the Korean film planning and production team, overseeing production management and marketing for films such as The Host and Rules of Dating. During her tenure as head of Korean film production investment at Showbox, she was responsible for production investment in numerous box office hits including Nameless Gangster, The Thieves, Inside Men, and A Taxi Driver. Since 2018, as CEO of Ace Maker, she has led investment and distribution for films like Noryang, The Gangster, The Cop, and Black Money. CJ ENM stated, "In line with this new appointment, we plan to accelerate efforts to strengthen our film business competitiveness and target the global market."
