Dong-Eui University Smart Transportation Project Group Wins Top Excellence Award in First-Year Evaluation of BB21+ Project

The Smart Transportation Project Group at Dong-Eui University (headed by Kwon Soonkak) received the Grand Prize at the first-year achievement report and academic conference for the 7th phase of the Brain Busan21 plus (BB21+) project, held at the Busan City Hotel on the 25th of last month, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Technopark.

View original imageThe BB21+ project is a flagship talent development initiative aimed at nurturing outstanding research and practical professionals in the Busan region. The 7th phase of the project, which began in September 2023 and will run for five years, includes participation from 12 project groups, including the Dong-Eui University Smart Transportation Project Group.
The Smart Transportation Project Group at Dong-Eui University is conducting research and development on smart transportation technologies through collaboration among specialized laboratories in various advanced technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and hardware (HW).
In particular, during this first year, the group was selected as the top project group in recognition of its high evaluation for operating company-led capstone design and cascade mentoring, as well as supporting technology transfer and development for local companies, thereby carrying out close cooperative activities with the local community.
Kwon Soonkak (Professor, Department of Computer Software Engineering; Director, Busan IT Convergence Components Research Institute), head of the project group, stated, "We will do our best to lead future smart transportation technologies in cooperation with local industries and to nurture practical professionals."
