"Fire Safety Alert" ... Changwon Fire Department Launches Full-Scale Spring Fire Prevention Measures
The Changwon Fire Department in Gyeongnam is set to actively implement the '2025 Spring Fire Prevention Measures' in response to the increased risk of fires during the spring season.
In particular, the number of fire incidents is highest in spring due to dry weather and strong winds, with a tendency for fires to be concentrated in March.
Accordingly, the Changwon Fire Department will focus on the following: ▲Strengthening fire safety management for residential facilities and vulnerable groups ▲Guidance on fire prevention at large construction sites and work sites ▲Safety inspections at campgrounds, festivals, and event venues ▲Enhancing fire prevention publicity and education ▲Maintenance of fire hydrant facilities and establishment of emergency response readiness.
The department plans to actively encourage the installation of fire safety systems in old apartment buildings and single-family homes, and to strengthen response capabilities through unannounced drills at nursing hospitals and medical facilities. In addition, administrative guidance will be conducted on-site to prevent fires at construction sites, and thorough fire safety inspections will be carried out at fire-prone facilities.
Changwon Fire Department Chief Lee Sanggi stated, "Active cooperation from citizens is essential for fire prevention during the spring season," and urged, "Prompt reporting and evacuation are most important in the event of a fire, so please be thoroughly prepared in advance."
