Jangseong County Recruiting Scholarship Students... 'One Child per Family' Selection Standard Abolished
Until the 21st...
264 Recipients to Be Selected
Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that the Jangseong Scholarship Foundation will be accepting applications for scholarships until the 21st of this month. The number of recipients has increased by 126 compared to last year, totaling 264 students. The previous "one child per family" selection rule has been abolished, allowing siblings to each receive a scholarship.
Eligible applicants are students or their guardians who have been registered residents of Jangseong County for at least six months as of February 28 this year, and are currently enrolled in domestic schools. There are five selection categories: academic excellence, multiple children, special talent, welfare, and emergency support for families in crisis. The final selection results will be announced at the end of April.
The scholarship amounts are 300,000 KRW for elementary students, 500,000 KRW for middle school students, 700,000 KRW for high school students, and up to 2,000,000 KRW for university students. Elementary and middle school students can only apply through a recommendation from their school principal. Out-of-school youth who have passed the qualification exam within the past year can apply with a recommendation from the head of the Out-of-School Youth Support Center.
University students are mainly selected in the welfare category. A separate tuition support program will accept applications starting in mid-May. For more details, refer to the notices on the Jangseong County website or contact your local administrative welfare center or the Jangseong County Department of Culture and Education.
