Disney+, Selected as an Excellent Operator for OTT Self-Rating Classification
Received High Scores for Features Such as Children-Only Profiles
The Video Rating Board announced on the 5th that it has selected Disney+ as an excellent operator for self-rating classification in online video services (OTT).
The self-rating classification system, introduced in 2023, allows online video service providers including OTTs to set their own content viewing ratings without undergoing prior classification by the Video Rating Board. Previously, Disney+, Netflix, Wavve, TVING, and Coupang Play obtained operator qualifications.
Disney+ received high scores for features such as a children-only profile and functions that prevent switching to other content without guardian permission. It was also highly evaluated for clearly displaying warning messages when harmful scenes such as smoking or suicide appear in the content.
