S-OIL Utilizes Digital Solutions and AI in Factory Management
Entering Phase 2 of PSORMS
S-OIL announced on the 4th that it has entered the second phase of PSORMS (Process Safety & Operational Risk Management Solution) to establish a digital-based safety management system.
PSORMS is one of the core solutions of the S-imoms (S-OIL Integrated Manufacturing Operation Management System) project, which S-OIL is carrying out to maximize operational efficiency and transform the Onsan plant into a smart plant. S-OIL completed the first phase of the S-imoms project, which digitizes the entire plant operation system including production, equipment, maintenance, inspection, and safety, and has started the second phase aiming for completion in the first quarter of 2026.

It is being implemented on the same platform as the first phase of PSORMS, which is based on the DNV Synergi Life platform.
S-OIL expects that upon completion of PSORMS phase 2, its digital-based process safety and operational risk management solution will achieve world-class competitiveness. A S-OIL official stated, "S-imoms PSORMS is a project that implements S-OIL’s safety management philosophy through digital solutions," adding, "Through a solution that harmonizes technology, safety, and people, we will establish a world-class process safety and operational risk management system."
Previously, S-OIL promoted the first phase of PSORMS in collaboration with DNV, a provider of risk and safety management digital solutions, and launched it in May last year. The company explained that this has resulted in various achievements such as creating a safer work environment, improving regulatory compliance, systematic safety management of contractors, and enhancing work efficiency using web and mobile devices.
